Independence, Confidentiality and Privacy

Governments and public institutions entrust AABSA with sensitive questions. These policies set out how we protect our independence, our clients' information and the personal data of people who contact us.

Independence

Independence & Conflicts of Interest

AABSA is independent and is not affiliated with any government, political institution, mining company or investment entity.

  • Before accepting any engagement, AABSA conducts a conflict check covering the client, the counterparties and the matter.
  • AABSA does not act for, or advise, any party on the opposite side of a matter on which it is advising a government.
  • Where AABSA advises investors or other private clients, it does so only on matters that do not conflict with its government engagements, and discloses relevant relationships to affected clients.
  • AABSA personnel and associated experts disclose personal, financial or professional interests relevant to an engagement and step aside where required.
  • AABSA does not offer, pay or accept bribes, facilitation payments or other improper benefits, and does not engage intermediaries to obtain government work on its behalf.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality

AABSA treats client information, government documents and advisory assessments as confidential.

  • Information received in an engagement is used only for that engagement.
  • AABSA signs confidentiality or non-disclosure agreements on request.
  • Public publications never disclose confidential client information, protected government material or sensitive advisory assessments.
  • Detailed assessment methodologies and client deliverables remain protected advisory material.
